Current Version: 3.7.1 (November 17, 2007)
Version 3.7.1 includes some minor enhancements and a number of problem corrections.
The Genbox Family History downloads are full versions that offer a 30-day trial period for unregistered users. Use this time to try out the program before you purchase it, to see if it is just as wonderful as you hoped. The program is fully functional during the trial period. After the trial period, the program will go into "read-only" mode. Data entry will be disabled, but all other features will still work. You can view your data, make charts and reports, and export.
Note: If you are still in the 30-day trial period and want to update to the latest version, you can download either the full version or the patch files and install them normally.
Updating to the Current Version
If you already have a previous version of Genbox installed, you can download either the full installation or an update file to update your system to the current version. Only the program files will be updated; your data will not be affected.
NOTE: If you encounter problems when trying to start the new version, it may be necessary to uninstall the previous version first, then reinstall the full installation. If you are an unregistered user, uninstalling the program may cause the evaluation period to expire immediately. If this happens, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
1098 Installation Error Problem
If you have a newer computer and encounter a "1098 Installation Error", this problem is likely due to hardware enforcement of Data Execution Prevention.
To correct this problem:
Click one of the icons below to download the full installation of Genbox Family History (6.87 MB):
This installation file is for all versions of Windows. It can safely be installed on top of a previous version, without losing any of your data.
If you have already installed a full version of Genbox Family History (version 3.1 or later) on your system, and are using a slow internet connection, you can download one of these smaller files to update to the latest version.
NOTE: The update files only install the program file, language resource file for English (US), and the GBXDBINI initialization file. The necessary system files are not part of the update. Chart and Report Definitions, the Help File, additional language resource files, spell checker files, icon files, and other ancillary files are not included in these updates.

The information available in the program help file has been organized into a printable Microsoft Word document (520 pages). It has been supplemented with many screen shots to illustrate the program's operation. The Genbox User's Manual is available for download here, as a ZIP file. This manual has been updated for version 3.6.5.
The Genbox User's Manual is also available as a PDF file, sized for A4 paper (8.3 x 11.7 in.). This manual has been updated for version 3.6.5.
